Satpol PP Intensifies Operations against PPKS for a Month

The Jakarta Satpol PP is intensifying operations against people with social welfare issues (PPKS) for the next month, which aims to create a sense of public order in Jakarta.

We have intensified it since yesterday afternoon

Jakarta Satpol PP Head, Arifin said that the operation itself involved 180 personnel from the provincial level and 300 personnel from five municipal areas.

"We also get support from 60 personnel from the Social Agency (Dinsos) and 60 personnel from National Army (TNI) and Police," he expressed, Friday (2/10).

According to him, it has been intensified from Jalan Gunung Sahari, Jalan Letjen Suprapto, Jalan Latuharhari, Jalan Kramat Raya, Jalan Kramat Raya, Sunter Lake, Jalan Boulevard Raya Kelapa Gading, Jalan Hayam Wuruk, Jalan Jembatan Lima, Jalan Dr. Soepomo Tebet, Jalan Abdullah Syafei, Jalan I Gusti Ngurah Rai, Jalan Matraman Raya, and Jalan Pemuda.

It needed to be done considering that several types of PPKS had been found starting from silver humans, clowns, cart people, beggars, buskers, and Pak Ogah (voluntary parking attendants).

"We have intensified it since yesterday afternoon," he explained.

He asserted that those who were caught would be handed over to social institutions for data collection and further handling in order to foster people who need social welfare services.

"Coaching and training are done to empower them. Therefore, we need support from the community," he stated.
